  6. A few new features have been added to Turbo Menu that are not mentioned
  7. in the printed documentation.

  10. I  Automatic menu rebulding from within Turbo Menu.
  11.  
  12. Pressing Alt-F4 from the main menu invokes the Turbo Menu's automatic
  13. menu rebuilding feature.  It is the same function that is preformed when
  14. Turbo Menu is installed, however, it can now be run repeatedly after
  15. Turbo Menu has been installed to update your menus. If you install new
  16. programs after Turbo Menu has been installed, you can update your menus
  17. by executing this function.

  20. II  Graphics Screen Saving
  21.  
  22. Turbo Menu now has a graphic screen saver in addition to the original
  23. scrolling text box.  You can select your preference in the configuration
  24. section of Turbo Menu.  The configuration menu is accessed by pressing
  25. Alt-F2 and the configuration edit screen is accessed by pressing F2 from
  26. the configuration menu.  The last data field (located at the bottom of
  27. the screen) controls whether Turbo Menu uses the graphic screen saver or
  28. the text screen saver.  Enter Y for the graphic saver and N for the text
  29. saver.

  31. The graphic screen saver consists of a series of multicolored lines that
  32. are drawn and erased.  The length of these lines can be lengthed for a
  33. more dramatic effect by pressing the plus key (+).  Pressing "R" returns
  34. the lines to their default length.

  37. III Installation of Updates

  39. If you are installing Turbo Menu onto a system that has a previous
  40. version of Turbo Menu installed, the installation program will save your
  41. preexisting menu system and will convert the old menus to the new system
  42. if you respond affirmatively to the appropriate prompt during
  43. installation.

  46. IV Multiple Password Protection
  47.  
  48. Turbo Menu now has five levels of passwords:
  49.     1. Separate passwords to select or edit each menu item;
  50.     2. Separate passwords to edit each menu;
  51.     3. Single master password for all menus;
  52.     4. Single password for exit to DOS;
  53.     5. Single password to edit configuration.

  56. V New Log Detail Field
  57.  
  58. Turbo Menu has a new field when editing a menu item:

  60.    Prompt for log detail:

  62. If this field is set to "Y" the user will be prompted for a 30 character
  63. description of the task she is about to perform with the application
  64. being executed.  The description is then placed in the log file for
  65. extra detail about what was being done at the time.  This feature can be
  66. used for billing computer time or other purposes which require greater
  67. details concerning the task performed by the user.

  70. VI Report Program Improvements
  71.  
  72. SREPORT.EXE now takes command line paramters for individual log
  73. files.  For example, to create a report for a log file named JMV.DAT,
  74. enter the following command at the DOS prompt:

  78. A minor bug in report generator in version 5.3 was also resolved.

  81. VII Installation Bug Resolved
  82.  
  83. Version 5.4 also corrects a minor bug that existed in the installation
  84. program of version 5.3.  This bug only arose when SHARE.EXE had been
  85. previously executed by the user.
